“White subway tile in a brick pattern, is my go-to backsplash,” says Kevin Walsh, a designer in Little Rock, AR. “You never get tired of it.” It’s easy on the wallet, too. Subway tile can go for less than $2 per square foot at hardware and home improvement stores. John Colaneri from Cousins Undercover suggests using darker grout as it highlights white tile and shows fewer stains.
