Materials Needed:

  • plastic crate
  • wood, birch panel (specially cut to fit inside and under the crate)
  • sandpaper
  • angled top plates (hardware)
  • furniture legs (McCobb Mid Century Modern 4" legs in white pine)
  • medium-sized clear hooks, such as Command
  • drill
  • six 1-inch screws

Step 1

Have a piece of wood cut to fit inside the crate as a shelf, and another piece to cover the bottom as a base. Sand all edges.

Step 2

Screw an angled top plate to each corner of the wood base piece. Screw in legs.

Step 3

Set crate on base as shown in final image above. From inside the crate, use a drill and six 1" screws (two in the front and back, and one on each side) to attach the crate to the base.

Step 4

Affix four clear self-adhesive hooks inside the crate. Set the shelf on top of the hooks.
