Leanne Ford's L.A. Space Is Lana Del Rey's Dream Home

HGTV's 'Restored by the Fords' star has sold her California-cool home in hipster Echo Park for a cool $1.178 million to the suitably stylish crooner Lana Del Rey.

Pregnant with her first child and ready for a new, undoubtedly bigger place to nest, Leanne Ford just sold her cottage-chic home in hipster ground zero Echo Park to another style-maven: dream-pop musician Lana Del Rey.

Del Rey paid $200,000 over the home's asking price, securing the historic cabin with its exposed wood-beam ceiling for a cool $1.178 million.

The two-bedroom, one-bath 1906 home "is rumored to be the first house in Echo Park," Ford discloses in an HGTV tour of the home.

With its creamy white walls and Danish modern wood stove housed inside a mantel created with stones Ford foraged from the yard, the home blends mod seventies design elements with a casual, lived-in cottage feel. The home itself is a modest 1,236 square feet, but it boasts plenty of well-appointed extras, including an artsy California contemporary look that beautifully blends indoors and out, and a design-savvy style that surely sweetened the deal for Del Rey.

Tour the Home

Del Rey already owns several other properties in Los Angeles.

The kitchen features an industrial-grade stove, open shelving, an upcycled sink Ford sourced in Pittsburgh and the kind of vintage-style Smeg fridge that surely endeared the home to the retro-inspired musician Del Rey. "Small house, big table," Ford jokes of the 12-foot rustic wooden table that dominates the charming kitchen. A deep clawfoot tub in the European-rustic single bath came with the home and was refinished by Ford. A home office/library she shares with her husband Erik Allen Ford features a sliding barn door. A cozy bedroom with French doors leading outside continues what Ford calls the home's "inside-outside living."

The home has some great girl-power lineage too, once owned by silent movie star Clara Kimball Young, one of the first women in Hollywood to own a film studio. With its rustic wood exterior, wraparound porch and canopy of trees, the home has a definite blend of Ford's Pennsylvania roots and a mod California vibe that Del Rey, if she's smart, will retain.

We think Del Rey will creatively prosper with all of the inspiring design Leanne Ford has bequeathed her.
