Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.

This is a lovely way to add something new to your special day. Tradition dictates that gifts are shared with those in your bridal party. Why not make the day even more special with a handmade gift from the bride? These tulle flowers can be crafted from a wide array of tulle and feature new or even vintage buttons. The best part of this gift is that these flowers are versatile. They can be worn in the hair, safety pinned to a dress, or added to bouquets or corsages. After the big day, these flowers can even make an appearance on the lapel or pocket of your favorite jacket. This is a gift that will surely be remembered.

Bridal Hair Flowers

Create beautiful one-of-a-kind hair pins for all the ladies in your wedding party.

Gather Your Supplies

For this craft you will need: tulle/buttons/needle /thread /felt /bobby pins /scissors.

Decide on a Shape

Cutting your petals in this shape will give you the flower featured in the first photo of this gallery.

Rounded Petals

You can also make a simpler flower like this. See the next photo for the petal shape to cut.

Simple Flower

Cut your shapes for the simple flower. Once you have selected a pattern, you will need to cut many of the same shape in a variety of sizes.

Layer Them On

Starting with the larger petals, layer them from large to small until you reach the top and your desired thickness. Then cut a quarter-sized circular piece of felt.

Stitch It Up

With the needle and thread, stitch the center of the flower to the center of the felt circular base.

Add the Button

Sew a button to the center of your flower.

Pin it Up

Cut a small rectangular piece of felt and whip stitch it onto the back of the felt leaving the shorter sides open. Slide a bobby pin inside to attach the flower to the hair.

After the Wedding

After the wedding, why not switch out the bobby pin for a safety pin and add a bloom to your favorite jacket?
