Painted Plate Place Cards

Add an artistic touch to your table setting with plates that are both a place card and party favor.

Putting your guest’s name in the middle of the plate creates a memorable souvenir.

Materials and Tools:

small white porcelain plates
porcelain paint in contrasting colors
small paintbrushes
metallic paint pens

1. Paint rim of plate a color of your choice with porcelain paint, and allow to dry. Then paint the center of plate in a contrasting color and allow to dry.

2. Add guests' names and a decorative design around plate's brim with a metallic gold paint pen.

3. Allow paint to cure for a minimum of 24 hours. Once dry, place finished plate in a cold oven set to 350 degrees, follow paint manufacturer's instructions on the time required. The heat of the oven will permanently set the paint, making the plate dishwasher safe.

4. Set the name plates at each place setting, using them as place cards. Your guests can take their plate home with them at the end of the meal as a favor.
