Materials Needed:

  • screwdriver
  • scissors
  • batting
  • spray mount
  • fabric
  • electric staple gun
  • nailhead trim
  • Upholstery hammer

Step 1

Unscrew the screen’s hinges to detach the panels and lay them flat on the floor. Cut 3/4-inch-thick polyester batting to the size of each panel front, including the legs—you’ll need about 1-1/2 yards for each 72-inch-by-16-inch panel. Adhere with heavy-duty spray mount.

Step 2

Cut fabric to the shape and size of each panel front, including the legs, adding two inches all around. Wrap the fabric around each panel front and legs, securing it to the back with an electric staple gun and 3/8-inch staples, pulling it taut as you go.

Step 3

Tap nailhead trim around all the panels, about 2 inches from the edge (we just eyeballed it) using a nylon-tip upholstery hammer ($30, diyupholsterysupply.com). Add two more lines of trim 8 and 10 inches from the top and bottom borders. Replace the hinges and screw the panels together.
