Materials Needed

  • 9 hula hoops
  • 10 chargers, tin pizza pans or plastic plates
  • matte white exterior spray paint
  • matte black exterior spray paint
  • 18-30 tent hooks
  • drop cloth
  • painter's tape
  • latex gloves (optional)

Tape Off Pans 

Use painter's tape to create large X's on five of your playing pieces. (We chose upcycled pizza pans.)

Spray-Paint X's

Spray-paint the pans with black spray paint using light, sweeping motions. Let the pans dry for at least 15 minutes.

Step 2- Spray Paint X’s
Then spray paint the pans with black spray paint using light, sweeping motions. Allow to dry for 15 minutes. HINT- create a safe “paint area” for this project by placing a drop cloth down on the ground or work surface.

Spray-Paint O's

Using an old bucket or bowl with a 10- to 12-inch diameter, create O's on the remaining five pizza pans. Spray-paint around the bucket's edge so you’re left with a silver circle in the middle of the pizza pan.

Remove Tape

Remove the painter's tape off the five 'X' pizza pans.

Secure Hoops

Once the hoops are dry to the touch, secure them into the grass with tent hooks. Use a minimum of two hooks for each hoop.
