Materials Needed:

  • LED globe lights
  • five colors of sheer ribbon cut into 8" to 10" strips
  • hot glue gun
  • scissors
  • 1/2"-wide elastic
  • hot glue gun
  • glue sticks

Measure and Cut Elastic

Measure the elastic around the base of one bulb on your LED light strand. It should wrap around and overlap 1/8". Use this piece as a pattern to cut enough elastic sections for each light bulb on the light string.

Glue Ribbon to Elastic Strips

Hot glue 5 to 7 strips of the sheer ribbon onto each elastic piece. Cover the whole strip of elastic with the ribbon pieces. Tip: Attach ribbon pieces in different lengths, or trim the ribbons after attaching to elastic.

Connect Ends of Elastic Strips

Turn the elastic over and put a small dot a hot glue on one end. Glue both sides of the elastic together, creating a circle. Repeat with remaining ribbon clusters.

Attach Ribbons to LED Lights

Unscrew the light bulb from the socket. Stretch the elastic over the socket with the ribbons hanging down. Screw the light bulb back in. Repeat for each bulb on the string of lights.
