How-to: A Sewing Table Nightstand
The DIY experts at HGTV Magazine went digging in the attic for treasures that deserve a second chance.
- screw driver or drill
- clean cloth
- spray primer
- spray paint
- construction adhesive, such as Liquid Nails
If your table still has the sewing machine attached, open it and unscrew it from the wood tabletop. Then unscrew the tabletop from the metal base.
Wipe down the base with a damp rag and prime it with spray primer. Let dry, then spray-paint. Let dry.
Use a construction adhesive like Liquid Nails (available at hardware stores) to attach a new top to the base. (We used the top of an unassembled IKEA coffee table.) For extra security, screw it to the base from underneath, using the screw holes already in the base.
