Sweet, Delectable Basket

Give a variety of sweet, homemade produce as a gift: package up chocolate brownies, a ginger cake, nougat treats and fruit jam in airtight tins, pretty boxes and decorated jars, and arrange them in a decorated, medium-sized basket. Add greenery, twine and ribbon for an extra holiday touch.

Chocolate Brownies

Nothing's better than hot, fresh, made-from-scratch chocolate brownies. Once packaged in an airtight tin, these irresistible treats will stay fresh and tasty for up to six days. You can also make them in advance, freeze them and leave them to thaw in a tin — there will be no excess moisture and your guests will be greatly impressed by your culinary skills.

Ginger Cake

Don't stress trying to cook everything the day before delivering your homemade gift basket. It's suggested that you make this ginger cake recipe at least two or three days before serving (or delivering) it. The moist cake stores better in an airtight tin and will greatly mature in flavor as the days go by.

Christmas Nougat Candy

Try something new this year — surprise your friends and family with a batch of fresh nougat treats. These wonderfully sticky, very light and soft sweets are perfect for filling tiny galvanized buckets or fabric candy cones, decorating the Christmas tree, or just for gobbling up.
