Spice-Scented Holiday Cotton Candy Recipe
Infusing plain granulated sugar with cardamom, cloves, vanilla, cinnamon and orange rind dresses up this carnival favorite for the holidays.
10 cardamom pods
10-15 black peppercorns
Orange peel from a navel orange
Whole vanilla bean
1 cup granulated sugar
Paper cotton candy cones
1. Place everything in a jar and shake to mix. Let sit for up to a week to allow sugar to infuse.
2. Right before your party or event, heat up your cotton candy machine for 10 minutes. Stop the machine, and once it has stopped spinning, add one tablespoon of your spiced sugar.
3. Twirl the cotton candy onto the cone and then sprinkle with edible glitter. Serve immediately.
2 Simple Holiday Table Settings
We’ve dreamed up two fun ways to deck out your table this season: One vintage, one modern.
Make a Modern Paper Wreath
This paper leaf wreath is a modern take on the magnolia or herb wreaths you often see around the holidays. Best of all, the neutral color scheme means you can display it indoors all winter long.
Make Geometric Wood Chargers
Take wood chargers from basic to bright in less than an hour using bold paint hues and painter's tape.
Make a Hanging Himmeli Centerpiece
These Finnish decorations are traditionally made of straw, but using plastic straws and colorful yarn make these geometric shapes durable and simple to make. Make a grouping of himmeli to form a cool, structural hanging centerpiece.
