For the nacho bar:

  • 1 bag tortilla chips
  • sliced olives
  • pickled jalapenos
  • diced onions
  • diced tomatoes
  • 1 jar cheese sauce
  • 1 jar salsa
  • 1 container guacamole
  • sour cream

For the black beans:

  • 1/4 cup diced onions
  • 1/3 cup diced bell peppers
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • (1) 15-ounce can black beans, rinsed
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup water

1: To prepare the black beans, add olive oil, onions and bell peppers to a small skillet on medium-high heat. Cook until soft, about five minutes. Add the garlic and cook another three minutes. Add black beans, spices, salt and water, and cook until the liquid has reduced, about 15 minutes. Set aside to cool.

2: Assemble the nacho bar by lining up the bowls of the toppings, condiments, chips, serving plates and utensils into an assembly line.
