Hot Dog Topping Recipe: Pushcart Onions
You can't go wrong with this classic hot dog topping, a natural partner for squiggles of ketchup and mustard.

Ingredients
Makes enough for 8-10 hot dogs.
- 2 tbs. cooking oil
- 4 large onions, sliced
- Salt, to taste
- 2 tsp. ketchup
- 1/2 tsp. cayenne
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 2 tsp. hot sauce
Preparation
Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add onions, season with salt and cook for 6-7 minutes, or until softened but not browned. Reduce heat to medium-low and add ketchup, cayenne, cinnamon and hot sauce. Continue to cook for 30-45 minutes, or until onions are completely softened. Serve warm.
