Hilltop: One of Hollywood's Favorite Escapes

Built in 1927, this Lake Arrowhead estate was once a popular vacation spot for Hollywood royalty, including Marilyn Monroe, Rock Hudson and Cary Grant. The 3.85-acre, 15,000-square-foot waterfront compound has a gatehouse, detached caretakers’ quarters and five accessory buildings on its sprawling grounds. Magnificent Obsession and many other films and TV shows have been shot here, and it was once owned by MCA founder Jules Stein.

Hilltop: Conservatory

An atrium-style glass ceiling floods this conservatory with natural light. Floor-to-ceiling windows also provide optimum lake views.

Hilltop: Glamorous Great Room

A high ceiling, oversized chandelier, windows galore, marble floors and classic furnishings infuse this great room with Old Hollywood glamour.

Hilltop: Tennis, Anyone?

Not many lakeside estates boast of a full tennis court and other recreational features like tetherball and an in-ground trampoline. And then there are the water sports: Hilltop boasts four boat docks and its own beach.

Approaching Hilltop

Hilltop sits behind gates and plenty of foliage, but once you enter the grounds, a sweeping brick driveway delivers you to the front door, or you can drive around to the state-of-the-art classic car/motorcycle restoration and display area.

Rainbow Point

It may look like an East Coast mansion, but this 17,000-square-foot estate sprawls over three massive lots right on the Lake Arrowhead shore, just a couple of hours from Los Angeles.

Rainbow Point: Grand Foyer

An elegant entry foyer with a sweeping staircase and slate flooring leads into a dramatic great room. No expense has been spared on the craftsmanship of this estate.

Rainbow Point: Private Setting

Privacy is a big issue to many elite homeowners in the Los Angeles area. Even if paparazzi were to cruise by this lakefront mansion, mature foliage protects the residents from prying eyes.
