Minimalist Space

Different shades of white and blue make the living room light and serene, with a smart floor plan that makes the minimalist space feel comfortable and inviting.

Rich Velvet Chairs

A furry friend enjoys one of the living room’s two navy blue velvet accent chairs with slender gold cap legs and blush pink, Mongolian fur throw pillows that pay homage to legendary Danish designers of the 20th century.

Contemporary Style

A white and beige Moroccan leather ottoman in the uncluttered living room can be used as a footrest or for casual extra seating.

Clean Lines

The living room’s round midcentury coffee table in the middle of the seating area reflects the clean lines and simple style of the uncluttered space.

Functional and Stylish

The large coffee table with a pecan wood finish and three sleek legs offers space to rest a beverage and display a stack of books, fresh flowers and decorative accessories.

Modern Moment

A modern abstract art piece in different shades of blue and white by southern artist Sally King Benedict pulls the color palette together and creates a focal point.

Security Base Station

The living room includes the plug-and-play base station that locates and controls all of the sensors for the home’s top-notch security system.

Open and Airy Feel

The living room embraces lots of natural light, thanks to the home’s historic windows that overlook one side of the Craftsman home. White flowing drapes add a touch of coziness and offer control over the level of light in the space.

Charming Coffered Ceiling

The coffered ceiling adds architectural interest, dimension and texture to this living room with a simple color palette.

Made for Lounging

Two extra-deep made-to-order slipcovered linen accent chairs encourage guests to sit and get comfortable, plus they offer contrast for the living room’s more streamlined navy velvet chairs.

Peace of Mind

A sensor on one of the living room’s window frames connects to the home’s top-of-the-line security system.

Handmade Area Rug

A large handmade denim blue and ivory area rug adds color and pattern under the living room seating area.

Neutral Backdrop

The living room’s American white oak floor provides the perfect neutral backdrop for this serene space with simple color palette.

Lovely Floor Lamp

A three-light floor lamp crafted from aluminum and metal offers stylish illumination in one corner of this unfussy living room.

Furniture Layout

The location of this Craftsman home’s classic front door dictated the layout of the living room furniture, with the four chairs providing comfortable seating in a stylish setting.

Creative Wall Art

A vintage blanket that pulls together all the different blue colors used in this Craftsman home was stretched and framed to create interesting wall art in the informal entry area off the home’s front door.

Entry Sensor

Part of the home’s first-rate security system, an entry sensor with magnet on the front door detects whenever the magnet moves more than two inches away from it, to alert the door has been opened.

User-Friendly Keypad

The home security system’s keypad by the front door includes separate home and away modes. The away mode will activate all sensors, while the home mode deactivates motion detectors but protects windows and doors.

Classic Style Seating

A traditional Windsor-style bench was placed under the vintage blanket wall art in the informal entry area.

Great Flow

This view, looking from the living room into the adjoining dining room that connects to the kitchen, highlights the great flow between the main entertaining spaces inside the home. The coordinated use of blue and white throughout the house and out to the front porch also gives the property a coordinated look and feel.
