"If white leather was going to be the defining element of the master, I didn't want to repeat it here," says Lindsay, who opted for a sand-colored linen upholstery for the guest suite bed.

"I think many pieces in bedrooms are psychological," says design consultant Linda Woodrum. "You may never use this chaise, but it's the thought that you are on vacation — 'That's the very spot where I want to be.'"
