HGTV Smart Home 2014: Rendering and Floor Plan

This high-tech home, inspired by the design of English country homes, features 2,400 square feet of living space, plus a basement level that offers its own dedicated outdoor room.

Rendering

The home style draws inspiration from 16th-century Tudor homes that dot the English countryside as well as Revival Tudor homes that comprise the inner suburban neighborhoods of Nashville. The exterior features a mix of painted brick and siding accents.

Basement Level

The basement will be finished to resemble a warehouse loft with open trusses. An open living space leads outdoors to a covered porch with masonry half wall.

First Floor

Features of the first floor include a vaulted ceiling in the great room, where a fairly significant bank of windows offers views of protected wetlands beyond. Rough timber elements accent the open kitchen area, where a free-floating table stands in for both dining table and kitchen island. The dining room will be closed off from other spaces by sliding barn doors.

Second Floor

Bedroom two will share the great room's vaulted ceiling lines, bedroom three will boast its own mini den and a mechanical room will house the "brains" of this high-tech home.
