Located on the ground level, the back porch blends seamlessly with the architectural integrity of the home.

A covered porch gives homeowners the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, rain or shine.

"People envision a home being about getting together with friends and family and having fun," says interior designer Linda Woodrum. The spacious lounge area is designed to do just that, accommodate a crowd with ease.

Wraparound seating dominates the corner of the porch, and a door to the basement provides easy access for entertaining indoors and outdoors.

Inspired by contemporary design in the basement rec room, cushions and pillows in black, white and orange feature geometric patterns.

An electronic pet door allows pets to come and go as they please. The door is activated by a sensor attached to the pet's collar.

With its curved lines and aged finish, this gas lantern evokes a historic charm to the rustic gray-painted brick.

A locally sourced industrial coffee table weathers the outside elements thanks to a grated surface.

A potted fern adds color and visual interest.

Porch Security Camera

The back porch is monitored by one of the home's security cameras. Homeowners can access the live feed via a smartphone, tablet or computer.

The homeowner can create an outdoor environment conducive to entertaining by hosting dinner on the deck or gathering on the porch for drinks and casual conversation.
