HGTV Dream Home 2011: East Side Pictures

Walls of glass greet visitors who approach the home from the neighborhood's private road and provide unobstructed views into the home's expansive gathering space.

The back yard of HGTV Dream Home 2011 faces Stowe Mountain Resort's network of ski slopes.

Several metals, including zinc, were considered before copper was chosen as the material to clad the fireplace chase. Double-lock seamed panels of copper are attached to the chase with clips.

Retaining walls incorporate site-sourced boulders and graded material.

Battered walls are clad in SURETOUCH, a masonry system that replicates the look of natural stone. The finish serves to further insulate the home.

A collection of indigenous pines, plants and shrubs complements the home's rustic architecture.

At dusk, HGTV Dream Home 2011 comes to life with color. "This is not your traditional mountain house," says interior designer Linda Woodrum. "It's really something special and different."
