HGTV Dream Home 2006: Lake Lure, NC

HGTV Dream Home 2006 celebrates a casual mountain living design and unparalleled views of Lake Lure, North Carolina.
With any HGTV Dream Home location it's always about the site and it's always about the view, and in this case we have a view like we've never had before.
House Planner Jack Thomasson

A vacation home on a grand scale, this elongated cabin style home features two sections: the main home and the guest quarters, which in total can accommodate up to 13 people.

Built of stone and wood materials, this HGTV Dream Home reflects the natural landscape and is both hardy and low maintenance. The outdoor entertainment room rests between the main house and guest quarters and provides a large and inviting gathering space that overlooks gorgeous mountains and Lake Lure.

Inside, wood tones, bright natural finishes and hushed paint tones are both beautiful and practical and complement the natural, log cabin look. HGTV Dream Home 2006 is especially unique and spectacular in large part from the multitude of custom hand made details displayed thorughout the home.

From custom-made chestnut and ipe wood kitchen island to wrought iron inspired door hardware all by local craftsmen, these elements all lend a touch of character to this rustic style home.
