Manhattan High-Rise Living Room: Urban Style in Shades of Beige

Experience high style in an urban setting in this Kathie Chrisicos-designed living room. The room is softly appointed in shades of cream, beige and taupe with artwork and accessories that project pops of color. The patterned carpet is an unexpected yet exquisite addition to the room.

Pops of Color Boost Living Room's Appeal

Because the backdrop and furnishings of this New York City living room are styled in soft, monochromatic hues, designer Kathie Chrisicos was able to infuse pops of strong color in the art and accessory selections. Especially fetching is the abstract art behind the sofa in an orange-red hue, along with the vase of orange, yellow and pink roses that enlivens the coffee table. These colors add depth and drama to the design.

Glossy Curio Cabinet Displays Midcentury Modern Vibe

With its silhouette and shiny finish, this curio cabinet conjures up images of 1960. Designer Kathie Chrisicos chose this piece as an introduction to the living room in a Manhattan high-rise condo redesign. It makes a strong yet cohesive statement with the other furnishings in the room.

Contemporary Dining Area With Rosewood Cabinets

Designer Kathie Chrisicos used deep-hued rosewood cabinetry in this dining area, which features glass-front cabinets, a modern teardrop chandelier and a turquoise tile backsplash. A cerused oak dining table, Parson-style dining chairs and cream-patterned carpet complete this sleek, contemporary look.

Galley Kitchen Exudes a Cool, Calm Charm

Designer Kathie Chrisicos updated this Manhattan high-rise kitchen using a soft color palette in green and white to suggest a delicate and airy sensibility. The soft greenish-blue tones on the Roman shade, backsplash and countertop add just the right hint of color to the beautiful white cabinetry. Stainless steel appliances complete the room's serene and elegant design.

Custom Cabinetry Separates High-Rise Living Spaces

For this small Manhattan high-rise condo, designer Kathie Chrisicos strategically placed a custom-designed rosewood cabinet to separate two living spaces. From the foyer, you can see a similar approach to style and color in each room, especially in the wood tones and drapery choices used. The look is clean, contemporary and utterly inviting.

Contemporary Living Nook With a Manhattan Skyline View

Whether this room is used for reading, relaxing or a quick game of gin rummy, the sleekly designed space is comfortable and inviting. Beautiful rosewood cabinets with contemporary pulls line one wall, creating a stylish approach to storage. Cream and gold-toned furniture and window treatments offer a complementary and clean color palette for the small space.

A Yellow Interior Barn Door That Jackson Pollock Would Love

Designer Kathie Chrisicos created this custom-designed barn door to serve two purposes: to cleverly block off the laundry room and to become part of the gallery wall where her clients have displayed their art collection. The colors used on the door create depth and drama against the taupe walls of this space.

Old Blue Eyes Jazzes Up Guest Bedroom

Enter this guest bedroom and your eyes immediately feast upon a colorful Frank Sinatra print with a swinging vibe. Designer Kathie Chrisicos used subtle color tones against furnishings with a slight midcentury vibe to allow the artwork to be the room's shining star.

Contemporary Bedroom With Midcentury Flair & Ample Workspace

Whether it's a spot to relax or to work out a masterful plan, this ultra-chic bedroom is welcoming for both purposes. A gold, cream and brown color palette and furnishings with clean and well-delineated shapes create a look that's pleasing to the eye yet sophisticated in its overall composition. And the view of Manhattan out the window is superb!

Bedroom Workspace Built for Two

Designer Kathie Chrisicos custom-designed this two-person desk to become a functional yet non-obtrusive part her master bedroom plan for this Manhattan high-rise condo. Simple floating shelves in dark wood coordinate with the desk unit to provide a clean-lined working space.

Bedroom Corner Nook in Cream and Gold

With one peek inside this master bedroom, you'll get the sense of a chic, contemporary design with a midcentury modern vibe. The gold velvet headboard elevates the room's beige walls and neutral bed linens for a stunning effect. The nightstand and lamp are another flashback to a "Mad Men" episode set in 1962.
