Becky LaFranchi, Communication and Interior Design Manager for IKEA US

Becky LaFranchi, Communication and Interior Design Manager for IKEA US

Becky LaFranchi is the Communication & Interior Design Manager for IKEA US. Becky has always had a love for homes…as a child she would draw floor plans on graph paper and “furnish” them by looking through home furnishing catalogs.

When I am working on a problem, I never think about beauty but when I have finished, if the solution is not beautiful, I know it is wrong.
Becky’s favorite design quote by architect Buckminster Fuller

Becky grew up in the Seattle area where she was first introduced to IKEA as a customer. She used to shop at IKEA for her own home and also for her clients. She loved how accessible and functional the designs and the prices were. She also loved repurposing items into new functions. When she found out that each IKEA store has a design and visual merchandising department, it was a match made in heaven. Even though her degree is in residential interior design, Becky developed a passion for retail in general.

Becky’s favorite thing about interior design is solving home furnishing challenges in an easy and inexpensive way. Her strongest design skills are space planning and reimagining what a space can be.
