FAQ

What are the HGTV Faces of Design Awards?

The Faces of Design Awards will celebrate designers, architects and landscape architects who are creating beautiful living spaces.

How do I submit?

Review the 12 award categories, and choose one (or more!) that are a great fit for your inspired designs. Fill out the Project Submission form at www.hgtv.com/facesofdesignsubmissions by May 23rd at 5:00pm EST.

What do I need to include in my submission?

Six photos of your spaces including a variety of angles. These may be submitted through a zip file, dropbox or project link.

How many projects can I submit?

You may submit one project per category.

How many professionals can represent the project?

A project can be represented by one or two professionals. If it is a firm or company submitting the project, only two professionals from the company will eligible for the competition and the prizes.

Can I give credit to other professionals who played a role in the project?

Yes! We always want to give credit where credit is due. If asked to move on to the First Round, you will be asked to fill out a form providing all the professionals who need credit. We will add photography credit to the photo. Other professionals will be added below the photo. These professionals will not be eligible for the competition or the prizes.

What is the preliminary round?

The Preliminary Round is the first round of the competition. This is when the Faces of Design Awards team will review your project for the first time. If they like what they see, they will ask you to submit to the First Round.

When will I know if I've been selected for the First Round?

After submitting your project to www.hgtv.com/facesofdesignsubmissions, the Faces of Design Awards team will send you an email asking for you to submit your work to the HGTV Professionals Network to be entered into the First Round. These emails will be sent on a rolling basis from 4/19 - 6/27.

When will final nominees be selected?

Final Nominees will be selected and notified by 6/27.

How many final nominees will there be?

Each of the twelve categories will have up to 6 nominees.

Will I receive promotion materials?

Yes, we will be providing you with a badge, .jpeg of the awards image and an overlay to put on your project photo for promotion. These items will be provided to you a few days before 7/25.

Can I announce that I am a nominee once I have been selected?

No. We ask that you please wait until 7/25 to announce your nomination. After 7/25, you can share, post and tweet about your nomination as much as you like!

When and where does the voting take place?

The voting period will begin on July 25th at 9:00am EST and end on August 29th at 5:00pm EST. The voting will be on HGTV.com on the Faces of Design website (www.hgtv.com/facesofdesign).
