How to Arrange

Fill two-thirds of the vase with water. Trim the delphinium stems so they are all the same length. Arrange them in the vase so that they flare out naturally to the sides and their mixed colors are evenly distributed.

Tuck the hydrangea stems just inside the front rim of the vase; wedge them in slightly so that they stay in place.

Rearrange the delphiniums if necessary until you are happy with their overall shape and balance. Trim the grass stems so that they are a little shorter than the delphiniums and insert them in between the delphiniums and hydrangeas to link the different blooms together.

This arrangement should last at least a week if you keep the flowers in good condition. Because the hydrangea stems are much shorter than the grasses and delphiniums, make sure that the water is always topped off.
