Could stripes and polka dots be poised to take the throne once again? Or are you still a loyal subject of these zigzags?

Mason Jars

Crafters and bloggers have turned these practical vessels into just about anything you can imagine, from vases to the ingenious desk organizer shown here. So, are Mason jars playful or played out?

Are monograms and initials a capital (letter) idea or just excessive branding?

We know where Portlandia comes down on the issue, but what say you, design fans? Are they still hot or not?

They're handy in the classroom, but the trend of using chalkboards and chalkboard paint at home shows no signs of slowing. Do you think chalkboards are cool or should they stay in school?

Tree Branches

Tree branch motifs have been hot for the past few years, but people are going more modern and less rustic these days. Are you still a tree-hugger or do you wish this trend would make like a tree and leaf?

Pillows, wallpaper, mirrors and more have been emblazoned with whimsical whiskers. Do you think the bristles are brilliant or should they stay on Tom Selleck's face?

The '70s classic is back. We're seeing the technique being used not just for planters, but for wall art, room dividers and much more. Are you ready to tie the knot or would you rather not get tangled up with macramé?

Sunburst Mirror

Big or small, mirror or wood, gold or silver, these age-old decor pieces create a focial point and add sparkle to your home. Are you ready for this look to (sun)set or should it stick around for a while longer?

Whether it's a "trophy" on the wall or a glossy, magestical unicorn, taxidermy has adorned both nurseries and man caves. Is this trend overplayed or just plain wrong?

Lucite Furniture

This see-through trend seemed to be dormant for a bit, but there's evidence of it returning to the scene. Is acrylic furniture clearly elegant or transparently tacky?

Designers are bringing on the glam with brass. Can you make it work or does it need to stay in the past?

Graphic Prints

"For Like Ever" is this year's "Keep Calm and Carry On." Do these phrases keep you inspired, or do you already need some fresh encouragement?

From modern shibori prints to more classic takes, tie-dye is making waves again. Do you think tie-dye's totally groovy or can it stay in the '60s?

Wicker furniture was big up until the late '70s, and then it seemed to be relegated to the backyard. Now it's making its way back indoors. Are you pro-wicker furniture or do you think all this rattan looks ratty?

It seems the pouf has always been a divisive piece. What are your thoughts on the pouf? Is it a fun, versatile accent? Or is it a lumpy waste of space?

This natural material has made its way into just about every home and craft project. But now we ask: are you ready to safely step away from the burlap?

Decorative Maps

They've been plastered on walls and are now all over accessories. So, are maps sophisticated or stuffy?

The granite trend is simple — supply and demand. With stunning alternatives like quartz, ceramic, concrete, marble and wood to choose from, granite may be just a distant memory. Can you let go of your granite obsession?

Balloons are everywhere: blogs, magazine shoots, entertaining spreads, even engagement photography (especially engagement photography). Are balloons fun or overdone?

Dark Walls

Black walls have been black sheep in the design world, but they're starting to make some inroads. Are black (and other super-dark) walls gorgeous or too goth for your taste?

Open Floor Plans

This trend ranks high on the list of must-have amenities for lots of people looking for homes. Does an open concept give a home an appealing flow and extra light? Or does it make you feel lost in space?

Fiddle-Leaf Fig Trees

Designers staging spaces love to throw these trees in the mix. But does their ubiquity make them tired? Or is it just evidence that they look good everywhere?

Wall decals can be cute and are definitely convenient (especially for renters) but they seem to have reached peak saturation. Are you tired of this trend? Or are you still stuck on decals?

Is denim in the home jean-ius (sorry!) or is it better on the body?

Barn Doors

Barn doors have been making their way indoors and have landed on top of trend lists in the process. What do you think of these rustic accents? Are they a big yes or an E-I-E-I-No?

Florals and Chintz

Chintz typically refers to a type of floral fabric, but blooms have been gracing wallpaper, china — even tech accessories. Are you a fan of all this flower power or do you wish floral patterns would wilt and die?

Animal Print

Leopards and zebras and Dalmatians?! Oh my! They're all over the runways, but do you want animal prints in your home?

Tree Stumps

Are you a fan of the tree stump as a home accent? Or are you stumped by their appeal?

Concrete and faux concrete finishes have steadily been gaining popularity. But is it industrial chic or way too bleak?

Though tapestries have been around for centuries, recently we've noticed a rug revival of sorts. Are they woven wall art or dust magnets?

Busts have been around for a long time, but seem to be popping up in unexpected places. Are these statues classically cool or, well — a bust?

Colorful Appliances

Pick a color, any color — designers are outfitting kitchens with appliances in a rainbow of hues. Do you dare try a pink fridge or would you rather stick with stainless steel?

Toss it on a chair, sofa or even the floor and your room is instantly cool and comfortable. Agree, or can you just not get on board?

Big Letters

EAT. Do you need oversized letters to remind you of life's daily tasks, or do they add the perfect touch of whimsy?

Mirrored Furniture

Mirrored tables, mirrored dressers, mirrored accents — they're everywhere. Can you handle the reflection?

Faux Paint

Natural materials are in, faux finishes are out. Are you ready to trade in your faux paint finish for a solid coat of paint?
