Stenciled Side Table

From the pages of HGTV Magazine, Jonathan Scott of Property Brothers tells you how to remix this old item with a little more than paint.

Materials Needed:

  • stencil
  • paint brush
  • screwdriver
  • repositionable spray mount
  • pouncer
  • paint: Dovetail by HGTV HOME by Sherwin-Williams, Crisp Linen by HGTV HOME by Sherwin-Williams and Gloss Real Orange by Rust-Oleum

Step 1

Remove the drawer and unscrew the pull.

Step 2

Paint the table and drawer front gray. Let dry. Spray-paint the pull orange. Let dry.

Step 3

Affix two stencils (Crazed Invert 6" x 6" stencils, $8 each, stencilgirlproducts.com) to the drawer front with repositionable spray mount. Use a pouncer to fill them in with white paint. Remove the stencils. Let dry.

Step 4

Starting in the center of the tabletop, stencil on the design like you did on the drawer front, working your way out toward the table’s edge. Let dry.

Step 5

Reattach the drawer pull and replace the drawer.
