Tour Orlando Jones' Home in Wilmington, N.C.
Born in Alabama and raised in South Carolina, Georgia and Florida, the actor wanted his family to have the full Southern living experience. This home in the Wilmington historical district fit the bill.
"Almost all the homes in our neighborhood are over 100 years old, and the red brick streets are lined with huge maple and magnolia trees," Jones says. "Horse-drawn carriages ride down our street every day. You can't find that in L.A.!"
When it comes to decorating, Jones says it’s all about texture. “Raw silk, linen, wool, dark woods, cashmere and 70 percent bamboo, 30 percent organic cotton fabrics are my favorites.”
The kitchen is Jones’ favorite room in the home. “I love that the extra-high, 11-foot ceilings ensure that even when the kitchen is packed with family and friends, the room never feels crowded,” he says.
Just off the kitchen, a butler’s pantry offers wine storage and an extra sink.
Jones lists grays, creams and greens as some of his favorite colors for the home, evidenced in his soothing master bath.
Diva, Bedfellows, Blueprint and flea markets around the globe are a few of Jones’ favorite places to shop for home products.
Dark wood paired with crisp, white trim lends drama throughout the residence.
