Why I should win Design Star:
I think I am definitely relatable to HGTV viewers. I’m not stuffy by any means and you won’t see me using technical design mumbo jumbo. I would like to have a show that is pure design entertainment. You will always see me goofing around, laughing, joking and delivering some funny off-the-wall comment. That’s who I am. I have a passion for life and for design. I believe that it’s important to have fun in whatever you do. I make it my daily mission to smile more and laugh often. Happiness is important to me, and I would like to bring that to those I design for. Being HGTV’s Design Star would give me the opportunity to touch the lives of many families and bring a little more happiness into their lives.

What is your dream design project?
A villa in Italy with an unlimited budget. Any takers?

Where do you get your inspiration?
Everywhere; I’m always looking for that special something that inspires me.

When designing, what can't you live without?
Having fun is an absolute must for me with everything I do, so I would have to say my business partner and best friend, Shannon. We definitely have way too much fun working on projects.

What are your most creative hours of the day?
Mid-morning to late afternoon

What do you think is the worst design trend?
Anything that involves hunter green, mauve, peach or teal

What's one thing about you that would surprise people?
I get extremely nervous if I have to get up in front of a large group of people to speak.

Where's the farthest you've ever traveled from home?
I'm not really a relaxed traveler; flying makes me a bit uneasy. The farthest I have traveled is Mexico. My husband and I like to go there for a little rest and relaxation.

What's your guilty pleasure?
HUGE bowls of chocolate ice cream at night

What's your most unusual talent?
Lip syncing

What word/phrase do you say way too often?
Unfortunately, there are many. My top three are "you know," "seriously?!" and "are you frickin' kiddin' me?"
