The exposure on Design Star led Torie to even more media opportunities, like the chance to be a regular design expert on a local Houston morning show and a spokesperson for local and national companies. She also maintains her design business and, most importantly, she says, serves as Mom to her daughter, Taiven. Since the show, Torie has moved more toward green design and added more color to her repertoire. "Here in Texas, we love earthy browns, and tend to build color on that," she says. "Now I work in more color than ever before."
