25 Outdoor Bars to Celebrate National Beer Day

Grab a beer. We're going outside.

While every Friday is pretty spectacular in its own right, April 7 is an extra-spectacular Friday. It’s National Beer Day, which means you should definitely get a beer after work. Who am I kidding? You were going to do that anyway. So maybe you should celebrate in a different way. Maybe you should finally give in to your outdoor bar daydreams (you know, the ones born from the House Hunters marathons). I’ve rounded up 25 of my favorites for inspiration, including categories for every dreamer — from the waterfront homeowner to the budget-conscious renter.

Bamboo Bar Cart

Outdoor Bar Cart

To get the look of this high-end bar cart on a budget, start with a basic metal or wire shelving unit, says Michiel Perry, founder of Black Southern Belle. Spray paint it your desired color. To add the lattice and bamboo trim, use a piece of vinyl diamond lattice, which you often see on outdoor decks and fences. Use bendable PVC pipe that is spray painted to match or in an accent color, for the trim.

With the right furniture and accessories, even the smallest patio can become an inviting, private escape. Try these ideas to transform your underused patio into a secluded oasis for lounging and entertaining.

Make a Statement With Lighting

Good lighting will not only help you enjoy your patio after the sun goes down but will also draw your eye vertically — important in a small space. This rattan pendant light makes a statement and shines a glow on the conversation area. Make sure to use outdoor cords and light bulbs.

Play Some Tunes

Atmosphere is everything, and soothing music sets the mood for your oasis. Whether you’re relaxing alone or hosting friends, music will drown out distractions and noisy neighbors. A small outdoor Bluetooth speaker will fill your patio with sound and can be stored when not in use.

Boost Privacy

Creating a sense of enclosure in your outdoor room will make it feel like a secluded oasis. Use a privacy screen to block a bad view or nosey neighbors. Upcycle some old shutters and a few hinges into a folding partition.
