Thomas and Marlene Hays fell in love in New York City but their bedroom tells another story, one of exotic adventures across the globe. Marlene first caught Thomas' eye when she was acting in a comedy skit in Greenwich Village and the two have been together ever since.

For Thomas and Marlene, travel is a big part of their romance. Their courtship took them around the globe and their mezzanine-level bedroom in Manhattan reflects their love of travel and each other. At the center of the room is an exotic bed not only draped in silk but also backed by a wall of lush fabric. The apartment is filled with treasures collected on romantic getaways, like a gilt-bronze Buddha from Cambodia and an 18th-century Italian mirror. Another unique aspect of the master suite is that the shower and tub area of the bathroom are open to the bedroom but can be closed off to the lower level with a floor-to-ceiling curtain.
