All About
David and Chalyn Newman's living room is cluttered with excess furniture. Designer Karen McAloon discovers great family artwork and many interesting items from when the couple lived and traveled overseas. She works with things they already have to create a great living room that reflects their personal history of travel and art.
The Newmans have another baby on the way so now is a good time to address their cluttered and mismatched living room. They'd like a modern vision to celebrate the world and aboriginal art they've picked up on their travels.
Red painted linen-like walls, a more substantial mantel and floating shelf set the background for a streamlined, adult space that featured the homeowners' own pottery and family artwork.
