Vintage Hawaiian Dining Room

Tally Hair and Kristen Moyer would like to have their dining room transformed from modern to vintage Hawaiian and they've called on the Design on a Dime team to make it happen.

Paradise wouldn't be complete without tropical flowers so Baltzer arranges silk flowers and foliage to avoid the high price of a store-bought arrangement. She inserts floral foam into a woven container and arranges the silk flowers.

To showcase the vintage Hawaiiana collection of sheet music and other fun accessories, Burbridge builds a large display case that ties in the thatching and various woods used in the room. The back piece is 3' x 5' half-inch plywood covered with reed matting that's been stained dark brown. The shelves are made out of 1" x 4" pine lumber stained a lighter shade than the matting. He creates a frame to give it a finished look.
