The design team transformed a kid’s room leftover from the previous homeowners and transformed it into a Tuscan master suite. Here's how they did it.
Federighi featured a Tuscan landscape mural and used luxurious silk linens to create this designer look.
The transformation began by adding a cool white tone (Benjamin Moore: Linen) to the walls. The design team used several shades of ivory, buff and brown paints to recreate the three panel wall screen of a Tuscan villa found in the inspiration room. A simple shelf and candle sconce was a perfect match for the inspiration gold metal sconce with silk shade. A natural white area rug replaced the high end wool rug found in the inspiration room.
The design team replicated the inspiration custom made silk upholstered headboard using plywood, foam and cotton velvet fabric. The bed was then outfitted with orange and plaid pillows and a crisp white duvet cover, which added a fresh, clean look to the room.
The design team chose bedside tables that matched both the silhouette and color of the designer French commode table from the inspiration room. The bedside tables were dressed with lamps with an elephant motif and antique books.
A gallery hall table with sculpted details was the ideal replacement for the designer mahogany desk from the inspiration room. Topiaries made by the homeowners were added to the table to add the right touch of greenery to the space. A white elephant statue that ties in with the bedside lamps was also added to the table to add interest.
The design was completed by adding a foot bench that was an excellent match for the silk upholstered mahogany bench from the inspiration room.
