Hide CaptionShow CaptionThe fabric on the makeover room bedding is made from blended materials and has a fringe added to obtain the regal and elegant look.
The bedding in the inspiration room is down-covered, hand-embroidered silk and tapestry. In order to save on fabric and money in the makeover room, the top of a simple cotton duvet was replaced with five yards of a blended fabric that has the look and sheen of silk. The bedskirt, shams and throw pillows were sewn from a combination of the floral and striped fabrics used in the canopy, headboard and duvet. Fringe was added to give the bedding more intricacy and depth.

Tip: If trying to get the look of silk, used polished cotton–it is a third of the price and a lot easier to maintain.
