Dated Accents

Milena and Bill are recently married 30-somethings who have just bought a house together. That is where their similarities end. Milena is an energetic South American who loves to salsa dance and shake things up, while Bill is a conservative American who likes things just a wee bit quieter.

The couple has been slowly renovating their new house, but ran out of ideas when they got to their 1980-style bedroom. The room was filled with Milena's brass and lacquered furniture from her teens, in addition to other dated accents like pink walls and dusty rose blinds. The room just didn't jive with their urban sensibilities, but the couple was having a hard time compromising on a design. Milena wanted spicy and sexy, while Bill wanted neutral and traditional. So, in an attempt to appease them both, I gathered together my crew and got set to construct a bedroom that would suit both of their personalities.
