This bachelor pad living room was full of mismatched furniture and lacked style. A subtle art deco influence and earth tone colors give the roommates just the look they wanted for their living room.
Design Details
Here's how Kristan Cunningham, Dave Sheinkopf and Spencer Anderson create the room's new look:
Bar Area - $207
Sheinkopf refurbishes a bar with a copper top and a new front featuring an art deco pattern called "angel wings," which he creates out of nail heads. (bar stools: Linens 'n Things - Amigo, 008969100014)
Furniture - $293
New furniture includes an entertainment console, bookcase and custom coffee table with an upholstered cushion created by Anderson. The upholstered cushion is set off-center on the wood table leaving enough space to set drinks. (bookcase: IKEA - Billy, 80071786; entertainment center: IKEA - Akrobat, 40071302)
Paint & Supplies - $41
The white walls are painted pale green to complement the teal green sofa. (paint: Benjamin Moore - 2028-60)
Lighting - $108
Anderson embellishes two wall sconces with a bamboo veneer over the glass shades. (sconces: Lamps Plus - 64289)
Room Divider - $70
Cunningham conceals part of the adjoining office with two panels made out of upholstery hoops secured inside a 1x1 frame. The frame is attached to medium-density fiberboard painted a shade darker than the walls.
Window Treatments - $115
Soft Roman shades and chocolate brown panels offer a more tailored look for the corner windows. (Roman shades: IKEA - Iris Roman Blinds, 00054031; curtain panels: Anna's Linens - Sedona, Chocolate Suede)
Accessories - $160
A graphic-patterned rug, an oval mirror and wall art reinforce the art deco influence. (wall mirror: HomeGoods; rug: Linens 'n Things - Olive Green 798860181358; ceramic vase: Target - 065100395)
Project Total - $994
