This unique coffee table is made from an ottoman.

Steps:

  • For an ottoman table, drape a scarf, a piece of lace or a pretty fabric over the ottoman. Then place a tray on top of it. Put books, plants, frames and other items on the tray.
  • Use an old trunk as the base of a coffee table. Paint it fun colors, or just clean it up and put a piece of glass on it. If the trunk is too low, put something — a wooden box or bricks — underneath it.

  • Use an old bench, cart, wagon or sled as a table base. Keep the item's natural antique finish, varnish it for a smoother finish, strip it, paint it or vary the look with the changing seasons.
