Create a custom-made pollywog’s paradise.

Materials:

glass aquarium
tadpoles (Can be purchased from Ward’s Natural Science at www.wardsci.com.)
sticks, stones, dirt collected from creek
plastic pail
water (collected from a creek or pond, if possible)

Steps

1. Scrub out the new aquarium and rinse the inside walls with clean water. Make sure it looks nice and clear.

2. Using your pail, collect water, sticks, stones and a little dirt.

3. Arrange the sticks, stones, and dirt in the aquarium. Make an area for land and an area for water.

4. Pour the water into the aquarium. Fill it half way, but leave some of the dry land exposed.

5. Gently pour the water with the tadpoles into the aquarium water.

6. Watch as the tadpoles grow into frogs! The frogs will eventually climb out of the water and live part of the time on the sticks and stones.
