Two years ago Evan and Ricki Frayman and their two daughters moved into their 3,600-square-foot custom-built dream home in a bayside Florida community. Now they are ready to begin decorating and furnishing the inside and want to begin with the girls' rooms and adjoining playroom.
They are looking for a designer who can bring style and character to the lackluster spaces by creating contemporary, playful and colorful Caribbean-themed rooms their daughters will enjoy spending time in.
After careful consideration the Fraymans decide to go with the design team of Gloria Ellinwood and Monica Bencomo. What was once a plain wall in the adjoining playroom is now a brightly colored mural complete with a village of houses that evokes the fun-filled beach theme the family wanted to convey. The room is accented by the custom built-in desk unit, the futon and new lighting, which all bring character and life to the room.
The soft Caribbean color palette also extends into both bedrooms, which are complete with new artwork, bedding, lighting and shutters. The Fraymans are certain that this wing is now a special place that the girls can call their own and will enjoy for years to come.
