Create a small storage piece for the bathroom using picket fences. Cut the fencing into four pieces — two short pieces for the top and bottom and two longer pieces for the sides. Add two shelves with nails and paint, if needed.
Create a charming plant stand out of a tall piece of fencing. Cut into four sections, attach with nails and add a shelf to the top. Jigsaw out a square and circle to give it a design edge.
Turn a stairway stringer (the support piece that goes under a stairwell) into a corner plant stand. Cut the stringer in half and add a support column to the back corner. Add small square shelves and paint, as desired.
Pair a small wooden step ladder and an old cutting board for a quaint side table or child's writing desk.
