Cut a podium down to fit on a countertop. Spray-paint the center with chalkboard paint.

Turn a tiered metal plant stand into a craft center. Replace the metal shelves with wood boards. Add rubber-coated wire baskets under each shelf. Drill a large hole into one of the wood boards to fit a water glass--handy when working on painting projects. Cut out a section of the lower board and replace with glass for a spot to rest a hot-glue gun.
