Design coordinator Charles Burbridge builds the train table with medium-density fiberboard (MDF). He attaches pieces vertically to a platform of MDF and shapes the top edge of each side piece to simulate mountain terrain. He then sands the edges super smooth so little fingers won't catch splinters. After attaching rollers to the bottom, he uses spray adhesive and a staple gun to cover the top with green felt. He creates trees for the platform with sea sponges and oven-bake clay.
