Don Hannah's rec room garners attention throughout and makes visitors want to ride 'em cowboy.
"Westernizing" the room began with the floors and ceilings. The floors are original to the house and have a Mexican/Spanish Colonial feel. The ceiling beams were custom designed and painted dark brown for a rich, leathery look.
What really catches your eye are the cowboy-themed murals painted on two walls.
Once the bones of the room were complete, Hannah's daughter, Kristen, set about decorating the space from the top down. Because of the large scale of the room, she used oversized furniture pieces to make it feel more cozy, even making room for a pool table.
For accents, they used things they already had, like English and Western saddles and riding coats and chaps passed down for generations.
