This couple is, quite frankly, embarrassed by their basement. With the big-screen TV and sports memorabilia, Greg admits that it's more his room than his wife Lucie's. The colors are cold and bland, but they have been reluctant to use any real color in this basement for fear of making the small space feel smaller and low ceilings lower. Can host Jane Lockhart transform this dark basement into a sunny retreat?
The room has some nice features, such as a fireplace and big-screen TV. But in their desperate attempt to bring a sunny Florida feel to their dark dungeon, the couple put a lighted, animated pink flamingo (Francis) and lighted palm tree in one corner. The hand-me-down white couches, massive black TV center and gray walls give the room a chill.
