Spanish Mediterranean Living Room

The fireplace wall is transformed into a true feature wall with an updated facade that is sleek, modern and extends across the entire wall from the mantel down. It comes out 18 inches and has four cabinet doors. The wall behind the fireplace is painted a warm, soft olive green to complement the other golden walls. This great color makes the fireplace more of a feature wall. Striped canvasses on the arched feature wall bring gold and cream colors from other walls together on the olive feature wall. The area rug ties together the Mediterranean color palette. The homeowners are delighted with the transformation and remark that there seems to be twice as much furniture as before, yet the room seems twice as big.

Use an accent color in at least three different places in the room to keep your eye moving. In this room, there are white sheers on the window, white cove ceiling and white in the abstract painting opposite the window. So the eye moves up the window, across the ceiling and down the other wall.
