Sam and Marie want to embrace the Spanish Mediterranean style of the rest of their house and bring it into their living room, along with Moroccan and modern influences, and they already have a great warm wall color. The decor and gold and burgundy colors are already warm and inviting, but host/designer David Bromstad recognizes that he can do a lot more with color. The couple doesn't like the tiled fireplace, which depicts a water wheel and covered walkway, but because it fits the Spanish style of the house, David advises covering but not destroying it for house resale considerations.
On his shopping trip to a fabric store, David spots some patterned fabric that serves as his inspiration for the entire room and as a graphic design for the walls. Browns, greens, umber and rust compose the color palette for this Mediterranean/Moroccan living room makeover.
