Before: Wide Open Space

Cathy and David had just relocated from a miniscule apartment in Japan to a gigantic 3,800-square-foot house back here, on the other side of the world. While they love all of the breathing space in their new home, the place has turned out to be a bit of a decorating challenge--particularly the master bedroom. The room was so huge the couple had no idea what to do with it.

They wanted a warmer, more intimate space where they could kick back and relax, so I set out with my crew to bring this 23-feet-per-wall-size bedroom down to size.
