Ryan White gives a tour of a smart home that's like no other with controls for anything and everything throughout the house. From starting the shower to choosing a movie to turning lights on and off, one can control any room from anywhere in the house with a portable remote using touch-screen panels:
This system allows you to monitor your home while actually conserving energy. By turning lights on at 50, 60 and 70 percent as opposed to 100 percent, you save energy and also extend the life of bulbs.
There are different levels of monitoring available as far as options and price so you can start small and add more equipment at your convenience. The key is to pre-wire a home during construction so it's ready when you are.
While it may seem like this would make one more susceptible to being lazy, the systems actually enhance lifestyles by saving you from having to go around the entire house adjusting lights, temperatures and security functions, allowing more time to do the things you enjoy.
Finally, advances in wireless technology are coming for existing homes that owners want to use this technology on.
