Create a unique room divider with salvaged shutters by cutting simple shapes and adding vintage door pulls in this project.
Materials and Tools:
3 shutters
hinges
sandpaper
stencils (optional)
jigsaw
drill
vintage door pull
paint
paintbrushes
Steps:
- Sand the shutters to remove chipped or peeling paint. Apply a coat of white paint and let dry.
- Add decorative designs using stencils or draw them freehand, and cut them out with a jigsaw. Smooth the edges with sandpaper and touch up the paint where necessary. Leave the inner part of the cutout natural because the contrast of wood against white will help the design stand out.
- Blot a door pull with paint and attach it for more decorative interest.
- Hinge the doors together and paint the hinges to blend them in.
